both drove in runs as well.

SAN ANTONIO -- Steven Bowditch held on to win the Texas Open in windy conditions Sunday for his first PGA Tour victory and a spot in the Masters. Cullen Gillaspia Womens Jersey . The 30-year-old Australian bogeyed the par-5 18th for a 4-over 76 for a one-stroke victory. "Im over the moon. I really cant believe it," said Bowditch, who attempted suicide in 2006 and has fought depression throughout his career. It was the highest closing score by a winner since Vijay Singh finished with a 4-over 76 in the 2004 PGA Championship, and the highest in a non-major since Fred Couples had a 5-over 77 in the 1983 Kemper Open. Bowditch finished at 8-under 280 at TPC San Antonio and earned $1,116,000. "Every time I got out of check, looking ahead to the Masters and winning golf events and making my speeches before I was finished, I had to pull myself in check every time," said Bowditch, wearing a green shirt. "And it happened a lot today." Bowditch, based in Dallas, entered the week 339th in the world and had only two top-10 finishes in eight years on the tour. He won once on the Australasian circuit and twice on the Web.Com Tour. "Hes been a battler. Hes gone through a lot in his life," said John Senden, a fellow Australian who won the Valspar Championship two weeks ago. Senden waited about an hour after his round to shake Bowditchs hand. "That last putt wasnt his best, but to finish it off he was as cool as a cucumber really," Senden said. "Im proud to be his mate." Will MacKenzie and Daniel Summerhays tied for second. MacKenzie shot 70, and Summerhays had a 71. Calgarys Stephen Ames was the top Canadian. Ames shot a 74 to finish in a tie for 16th place. Chesson Hadley and Ryan Palmer missed chances to get into the Masters through the top 50 in the world ranking. Hadley, the Puerto Rico Open winner, needed at least a sixth-place finish, but closed with an 80 to tie for 56th at 5 over. Palmer needed a top-three finish and had an 82 to also tie for 56th. Bowditch played the front nine in 3-over 39, making a double bogey on the par-4 fourth. He countered a bogey on the par-3 13th with a birdie on the par-5 14th and made three pars before missing a 3-foot par putt and settling for a bogey on 18. On the par-3 16th, he got up-and-down after missing the green. He pushed his drive on the par-4 17th, hit his approach on the green and two-putted, then pulled his tee shot left on 18, recovered with a shot to the fairway and reached the green in three. "I just drew back on some experience," Bowditch said. MacKenzie made a 13-foot birdie putt on the 17th to pull within a stroke of Bowditch, but the Australian tapped in from 2 feet for his birdie at No. 14 to push the advantage back to two. Matt Kuchar and Andrew Loupe shot 75s to tie for fourth at 6-under. Justin Reid Jersey . And on Sunday against the Houston Astros they were pleased to see his work finally pay off with his first win since May 24. Tytus Howard Womens Jersey . Its great to be back for another season in Banditland, and Im looking forward to another competitive season with my teammates, said Tavares.(Sports Network) - Toronto Blue Jays hope to snap a seven-game losing streak on Sunday afternoon and avoid getting swept in a three-game series by the Houston Astros. Mark Buehrle will get the call on Sunday for the Blue Jays, and since losing back-to-back games in mid-July, he has turned his season around with wins in four of his past six outings to improve his record to 9-7 and lower his ERA to 4.23. The veteran southpaw was fantastic in his latest outing, yielding just two earned runs in 6 2/3 innings against the Yankees on Aug. 20, but he was saddled with the no-decision as Toronto fell, 3-2. The bad news for Buehrle is that he has struggled mightily away from Rogers Centre this season, winning just two of his 13 road starts with a 5.63 ERA. The Astros will counter with Dallas Keuchel, who is in the midst of a poor sophomore season at 5-7 with a 5.11 ERA. The 25-year-old has been hit hard all season long, scattering 143 hits over 118 innings pitched while coughing up 18 homers. Keuchel has registered just one win over his last 11 appearances and hes given up four earned runs or more in three straight contests. He most recently allowed eight hits, three walks and four earned runs in four innings of work in an Aug. 17 no-decision versus the Angels. The lefty earned a win over the Blue Jays back on July 27, but he was roughed up over the course of 7 1/3 innings, allowing 10 hits (three homers) and six earned runs. The Blue Jays losing streak ccontinued on Saturday as the Astros got out to a big lead early and eventually cruised to an 8-5 victory. Justin Reid Womens Jersey. Houstons offense exploded early on as it found itself up 8-0 heading into the fifth inning. Jason Castro belted two home runs, his 16th and 17th of the season, and finished 3-for-3 with three RBIs and three runs scored. "The biggest thing that Ive really been trying to do this year is stay as consistent as possible and really not deviate from my approach," Castro said. "Ive tried to be as simple as possible and its worked out so far." Brandon Barnes was 2-for-4 with two RBI, while Robbie Grossman and L.J. Hoes both drove in runs as well. Brad Peacock (3-4) was far from impressive, scattering six hits, two walks and five earned runs over 5 2/3 innings, but it was good enough to earn the win. Chia-Jen Lo pitched a scoreless ninth inning for his second save. Chien-Ming Wang (1-2) was handed the loss in the spot start, allowing five runs (four earned) in three innings. Kevin Pillar belted a three-run home run in the fifth inning for his first- career long ball. Edwin Encarnacion also left the yard for the 33rd time this season, giving him a homer in three straight contests. The Blue Jays won three of the first four games played with the Astros this season between July 25-28. They were also swept in their last trip to Houston, a three-game series from June 10-12, 2005.
